HOW MYAMO WAS BORN
In search of an alternative material that does not burden our ecosystem, designer Katharina Querbach feels responsible for developing products with sustainable materials and thus positively influencing our consumer society towards a circular economy.

When she became aware of a mushroom material in 2016, she began her first material experiments. Since then, she has constantly been researching and developing her own material.

Myamo was created in 2019 during her Bachelor's Thesis at the Cologne International School of Design. The sustainable, aesthetic, and high-performance acoustic panel has since won several awards, been published in trade journals, and exhibited during public events.

WHERE WE ARE NOW
After her Bachelor's degree, Katharina Querbach decided to study for a Master's degree in "Entrepreneurship and Innovation" at the Faculty of Economics at the Free University of Bolzano, Italy, in order to learn the economic basics of founding Myamo.
​
Myamo was accepted into an Incubation Programme at the NOI-Techpark in Bolzano and is currently being developed for market launch.
